Holenberg is the entrance to the Maashorst, the largest nature reserve of Brabant. The area is mostly visited on weekends or during holiday periods. Even though Holenberg is located pretty tranquil, it may occur that you will hear people in your surroundings. If you’re looking to find complete peace and quiet, then choose a stay during weekdays or outside high season. Find more information about peace and quiet at Holenberg here.
The various ANNAs are spaciously laid out in the vast Holenberg forest. Thanks to the dune structure and planting, during your stay you’ll experience a great deal of privacy. In addition, the Holenberg forest is only accessible for guests of Holenberg itself and during your stay, the staff will not come within sight of your ANNA, unless you ask them to.
Each ANNA is provided with a double bed, a small kitchen with a stove, handmade recycled tableware of Cor Unum, cutlery, and cooking utensils. In addition there’s a Jacobus Kook heater, in the new ANNAs you can also cook on this heater. All cabins have a spacious bath in the floor. The new ANNAs have a mezzanine, which offers space to sleep for 2 children from 5 years and up and a separate shower and toilet inside the cabin. ANNA Origin is suitable for a maximum of 2 persons and has a toilet and shower in separate units next to the cabin. All comfort has been thought of to offer you an optimal stay:
Herbal tea and fresh ginger
Milk from the local farm
Salt and pepper
Olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Natural bed linen from Yumeko
Plenty of towels from Yumeko
2 bath robes from Yumeko
Shower, soap, and shampoo
Re-usable water bottles from Cortazu
Baby bed and child seat (on request)
Should you have a specific wish during your stay then please feel free to contact us.
Inside ANNA, a separate toilet and separate shower are present. The bath is located in the living space and hidden underneath the floor. At ANNA Origin you’ll find the shower and the toilet in two separate units right next to your cabin.
During the winter period, ANNA and the Maashorst are a magical combination, but the experience isn’t suitable for everyone. During cold winter days it’s possible to heat up the indoor temperature to around 20°C. In wintertime we have extra warm blankets, but the cold remains part of the experience during a winter stay. Are you an adventurous person and would you like to start the day with lighting up a fire, then a wintery stay would be perfect for you!
Questions about making a reservation
All ANNAs are situated in beautiful forestry surroundings with plenty of privacy. The only difference between the ANNAs are the different arrival and departure days. ANNA Ulex and Quercus have different arrival days than ANNA Molinia and Cytisus. ANNA Origin is the first ANNA that is built in Caspar Schols’ search for the perfect cabin. ANNA Origin offers a more primitive experience than the latest ANNAs and has an authentic charm that makes an overnight stay extra special.
The pure experience of nature comes first during your stay at Holenberg. To really offer this experience, there is a minimum stay of two nights. Your stay in nature is a moment for yourself, a moment to unwind with your loved ones in a natural environment. During your stay you will notice that there is simply too much to enjoy for a stay of a single night.
We can finalize our booking if the first half of the payment is made within one week after booking. We ask you to pay the second half two weeks before your arrival. In the booking confirmation you will receive all information about the payment, including a link to make the payment directly. If your stay is within 2 weeks, we ask you to pay the full amount in advance.
The general terms and conditions of RECRON apply to all bookings. The cancellation terms are also mentioned in these terms and conditions.
The maximum occupation per ANNA is 2 adults and 2 children up to age 17. For groups of three adults or more, you will need to book a second ANNA.
Yes, this is possible in ANNA Origin. Do keep in mind that with two large dogs the space in the cabin will be more limited.

Questions about peace and quiet
Holenberg is only accessible to guests of Holenberg. Guests of Charme Camping Hartje Groen, as well as guests from the outside are asked not the enter the forest. The Holenberg staff will not come in sight of your ANNA during your stay unless you ask them to. People who are curious about how ANNA looks up-close, can admire ANNA on the Vlinderidylle, located at 300 meters distance from Holenberg. If wanted, you can ask about this at the reception or De Boshut.
At Holenberg you can spend the night all year ‘round. The high season runs from April to September, during weekends and school vacations. In 2021 the May vacation runs from April 23 to May 16. The summer vacation runs from July 9 to September 3.
The quietest days are in low season, roughly from October to March. You can walk for hours in the Maashorst without seeing anyone. Also during high season there are considerably less people in the nature reserve and around Holenberg on weekdays, especially in the weeks prior to and after a school vacation.
On weekdays in the low season (business) parties can use the facilities of the campsite. During the low season, De Boshut and living room 't Hart can only be booked until 8pm and the nearer Barn until 6pm. Guests who use either of these rooms know that they are not allowed to play amplified, loud music there. In the evening after 10pm we strive to have peace and quiet throughout the property, but Hartje Groen is not a silence campsite.
Nature loves to surprise you. The most memorable moments always occur when you encounter them unexpectedly. Still there are moments in the Maashorst that really stand out. Step into nature in the early morning and discover how magical the landscape can be. Around sunset nature is overwhelmingly beautiful as well! On a clear night, look up and marvel at how majestic the starry sky looks. Spotting the large grazers always is an extraordinary experience. Also the nature gems, the Wijst areas, and the Koningsgraven (the King’s Graves) are beautiful sights.
Even though Holenberg is located in a quiet area, you may hear people in the vicinity. We strive to create as much peace and quiet as possible in and around Holenberg but cannot fully guarantee peace and quiet during your stay. The above should therefore mainly be seen as a guideline from our experience for the moments when you can best find peace and quiet but is no guarantee.
At the front of the Holenberg forest there’s a free parking facility for guests of Holenberg. Booking a parking spot is not necessary.
To maintain peace and quiet in the Holenberg forest it is not possible to place a tent next to one of the cabins.
Towels and bed linen are taken care of. For longer stays it’s possible to exchange towels. During stays of a week or longer, the bed linen will also be changed.
Yes, there are a few wall sockets available in ANNA.
It might take some getting used to, but our goal is to connect you to the real world during your stay. You will love it!
In ANNA you’ll find a simple kitchen unit with a two-burner cooker, pots, pans, tableware, cutlery, and a small refrigerator. In ANNA you’ll also find a map with various suggestions for where to have a lovely dinner in the area.
Barbecuing is allowed provided that the barbecue is placed at least 30 centimetres from the ground. Will you please also make sure to always have a bucket of sand or water near you in case something should go wrong? Fire pits/ open fire is not allowed by order of the fire service.
In the large sanitary block of Hartje Groen you’ll find a washing machine and a dryer. For both you’ll need coins which are available at De Boshut. Laundry detergent is included with the purchase of the coin.
At the moment, ANNA is not yet suitable for disabled persons, for the most part because there is a high step and space inside the cabin is limited. We do acknowledge the need and are currently investigating the options to include this in the future developments of ANNA.
Our bedding is fully sustainable and made of natural materials by Yumeko. You can view all products that we use in the cabins through this link.
